Garden of Delights
All year round

Rio’s Modern Museum of Art (MAM) is a showcase of great architecture and its exhibits are well worth a visit, but if you want to enjoy the weekend like a true carioca, take an afternoon to visit the MAM gardens. The green area, which is open to the public and offers a breathtaking view of the Guanabara Bay, has become a hit among locals who use the space to celebrate birthdays, make picnics, meet friends and even rehearse local Carnaval groups (it is not unusual to see the famous Orquestra Voadora band rehearsing there. Check out their agenda here.) If you have access to a bicycle, there is a bike lane going from the hotel all the way to the MAM, passing along the promenades of Ipanema, Copacabana and Flamengo beaches. A great chance to exercise and a perfect way to spend your afternoon.
