On skates

Sports are always at a high in Rio. Though the beachfront is naturally the favorite spot for people to practice any sport, there are other great locations for those who prefer to go for the more extreme. There is an undeniable skateboarding scene in Rio, for example, and there are several skating bowls around the city for those who like to ride on adrenaline. By the way, one of the favorite bowls among skaters is not too far from us, right there at the Arpoador, at the Garota de Ipanema park.
Check out other places to skate here.

Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon Promenades
A breathtakingly beautiful landscape serves as the backdrop to your walk along the famous sidewalks of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon beaches. On Sundays, the side of the street closer to the beach is closed for traffic, so people can use it for training and outdoor activities.
Flamengo Park
Skaters love the smooth paved, wide lanes running through here. On Sundays, these lanes are also closed for traffic, which creates even more space for training.
Vista Chinesa
The steep slopes along Paineiras Road leading up to the Vista Chinesa, a famous lookout point that offers a panoramic view of the city, are highly popular for skaters who dig downhill.
Parque dos Patins
Located on the shores of Lagoa, the park features an enclosed court with smooth pavement that is perfect for beginners.
